Sydney/Melbourne 11-21 June: Part 9

Okay I guess this will be the last part! I don't have much pictures to share already. Haha! Should have taken even more. But I have already taken almost 1.4k photos leh! And still not enough. Ya should have taken more food. Haha!

Day 10/11: Sydney - Singapore

View from our hotel room - Very beautiful! :)

So 2nd part of day 10.

We got back to Sydney. The girls fell asleep on the train. So I stayed awake just in case we didn't alight again. HAHA.

We got to go back to Horng's house to get our luggage first. Which was quite funny. We wanted to take a bus back to her house. And we thought we could pay the bus fare upon boarding the bus, but we couldn't! And Horng already board the bus before us. So we got to get our ticket from 7-eleven first. And took a later bus there. Luckily we've been there before, if not I don't think we know where to alight. Lucky for my streetwise trait too? :)

So we gotten a cheesecake at 85degree cafe first before getting our luggage to check in at our hotel - Formula 1 Sydney at King's Cross. We planned to bring it to Auntie Michelle's house to thank her. :) We were running late. So the moment we got into the room, we changed and got out, thinking we could make it to her house soon.

We only got to her house 2 hours later! Erm. Thanks to the slightly complicated train system. First we missed the first interchange we could get off, so we went on the the next one, and then got to the wrong platform (because the station staff told us the wrong platform) and we board the train without even checking. Thereafter, we realised we were on the wrong route after the first station and alighted immediately. Took the train back to Town Hall, and finally found the correct platform, but there was still train that goes to different stations (I don't know why such things happen). You got to seriously check if that particular train goes to the stop you want before boarding. So after much hassle, we finally arrived. By that time, the sky was totally dark and it was almost 7pm. We felt bad to let the family waited for us for so long.

It was steamboat for dinner! Had a really great dinner. And their place is so big! But really cold. They say it's the material of the house wall that makes it as such. At some point of time I was really shivering. Haha!

Auntie Michelle also made us some smoothie with the new machine she got. She has got a really cool kitchen, open concept, with everything you think you want in a kitchen. Really thankful for such a nice host. :)

Looked around her newly renovated house. Very nice designs by themselves. Esp. the child's room and their master bedroom. Beautiful and modern. Definitely the reason why they stayed there for so many years (other than work reasons).

Uncle was very nice to send us back to the hotel after the stay. And showing us around the Chestwood and Kings Cross area. Just in case we didn't have time to walk around on our own. At least we got a feel of the streets around there. And yup, that was all for the day.

Day 11: Last and returning day
From the previous night, we've been seeing news on the TV saying that some flights have been canceled due to the volcanic ash clouds. So we've been worried too. We decided to get to the airport as early as we can.

Anyhows, we still got to go to Darling Harbour to buy some stuff. So we set off around 9am. Thank god for the nice weather, we still could walk quite far from Town Hall station to the harbour. And we realised there seemed to be stations along the coast while walking there but we aren't sure. Anyhows, the shop we wanted to go wasn't opened yet so we went for breakfast. No more mac, although I wanted to. Tried the other fast food chain beside, I can't remember the name, but I had burger with bacon and egg, which was nice too!

After getting the lanolin cream. We went to get the ice-cream we swore to eat. HAHA! Baskin' Robins. Ok I can't remember which flavour I had, was some Chocolate ones. =x Nice lah. Last good memory of Sydney. :)

By then, we got to go. Went back to Hotel, packed our things and then left for the airport. Kind of don't bear to go, but we don't have a choice yea. And luckily, our flight wasn't canceled. Most of the flights canceled were Qantas flights, not any for SQ. So we got back! Wasn't a really good flight, it was wobbly most of the time. But at least we are back in a piece. Haha!

I really don't have anymore photos to share... except for this last one. Tyvm for following me through this journey (if you did). And not blaming me for being too naggy in my posts. Lol! :D

Sunsets taken in the plane obviously. While the 2 girls sitting inside were sleeping. Haha! It was really beautiful but I think my photos didn't really do justice to it. Sorry.

Anyhows, my next trip is coming up soon! hahaha. :D
