Sydney/Melbourne 11-21 June: Part 4

Watching TV is never a good idea while blogging. Yesterday was more productive when I sat at my dinner table to type the post. Today, the page was here all day without even a single word until now. =P

Day 4: Sydney
Shopping Day!!
It's plainly a shopping day. Went to Birkenhead Point where there are many outlets. We asked the concierge how to go there, so we followed the instructions. To make sure that we don't miss it, we even asked the bus conductor to tell us when it's our stop. In the end, we still missed the stop because he FORGOT about us. -.- And we were the alert ones. So we had to take 2 stops back. Luckily for the multi-pass. Moral of the story: Trust your concierge and trust yourself rather than bus drivers.

We were kind of early, so we had our brunch first. Then the shopping starts! :D But truly speaking, the stuff over there are not really that kind of cheap. Especially when Aussie dollar is getting stronger. Gotten 2 pieces of vest after the walking over the whole mall. Anyhows, glad that I've gotten something.

Then back to hotel to pack our stuff for Melbourne and to bring our stuff to horng's hostel. Then bring her melbourne luggage back to hotel and then set off to Sydney Opera House for the concert at night. It was super cold can, and we were all in dresses?! Luckily I brought a dress which was with inner-lining, so my body was warm, but it's actually the space between my dress and my knee length boots that was suffering. haha!

Finally we found a bottle shop which is still opened on our way back to the hotel. Apparently they don't sell liquor everywhere like here. You have to go to a bottle shop, not in 7-eleven, not in supermarket. Too many selections though, took us a while to decide what we want. And the person even looked like he drank a little. haha.

Anyway, that day marked the start of our everyday-need-to-pack-luggage routine. Haha!

Food
a. Subway and Jap handrolls
3 of us shared 2 6-foot long subs and 2 handrolls for brunch. Actually wasn't a lot. But the sub was quite nice, and their bacon is really different too. Sg should start using the same kind of bacon. I'll be glad to say goodbye to hard and juiceless dry bacon, and hi to meaty and tasty bacon.

Handrolls were nice too. But a freaking 3.50AUD for one that is slightly bigger than palm size. We had soft shell crab and chicken katsu. Too bad for chicken katsu the piece of chicken is rather small, and soft shell crab one is more yummy in any way.

b. McDonald's (again)
Was in a rush so we could only do that. HAHA. But we eat something different. Via had hamburger while ling and I got chicken and cheese burger. Nice!

c. ChaTime
There's only 1 outlet in Sg now, but it's everywhere in Sydney. So we bought 1 to share, just to get the taste of it. To speak the truth, I prefer Koi. Haha!

d. Seafood on the Rocks
We were bound for Belgium Beer Cafe but we reckon we didn't really had enough time before the concert if we had to walk from the restaurant to the Opera House. So we gave up the idea and search for something along the coast. We were deciding between Chinese food and western food. We gone for the latter considering that they are of around the same price. Haha! We shared a garlic bread and a platter. Seriously it's enough for us although it was supposed to be a 2-person share. Did we also ordered a salmon? Hmm. can't remember.

e. Ice-cream
We didn't eat ice-cream that day! Because Baskin' Robbins was closed by the time we came out of the concert hall. Plus it was really cold that day. Well, I guess the so many extra helpings the day before made up for it. Haha! We had cup noodles for supper instead.

Concert at Sydney Opera House
There were quite little performances at the opera house, so we settled for Lang Lang plays Tchaikovsky. He only appeared on the 2nd half of the concert though. But it was a great concerto. And at least the theme sounds familiar to me. Anyway, the hall was fully filled. Seats were all around the stage and seriously. I don't see empty seats. The influence of an international figure. And I say great work! I'm glad we get to go paying youth's price! :D

Photos
Unfortunately, I didn't have any photo for this day, because mostly was shopping and either I didn't bring my camera to the opera house or I just simply didn't take it out. Haha!
