Dramas (I wished I hadn't)

Sometimes I really wonder if it's really a good idea to watch dramas.

I get so absorbed into the characters and the actors in real life. So I'm always into looking for info about them, of course, can't wait to know more synopsis of the drama first. And if I find someone I'm attracted to, I will start looking up for shows he or she (usually he) acted in. That's how it works I guess. The difficult part is really withdrawing from the characters I like. And I think every single time I wished someone like that would appear in my life, only to realise how miserable my life has been and still is. That's probably why I also stopped for a period of time. Without new inputs, I just occasionally think about some characters I liked in the past, but with new ones it was really difficult to not think about it. 

The last time I'm into watching Korean drama was 2018, whereby somehow I watched a few, mostly because of the cast - someone I really like, eg. Lee Minho, Jung Yonghwa, Park Shinhye, Lee Bo-yong, Ji Chang-wook, and sometimes other members of cnblue. So I usually pick on actors rather than story or ratings. Even so, there were quite a number I didn't watch. And hence, I seldom watch the most popular shows unless they coincide - the actor and ratings. But, I also expanded the list of likes. 

Busy work life have made it also rather difficult for me to catch up with all the drama going on. I don't really have a TV to watch at home (I still don't except for late into the nights, like now). Being a rather emotional person, it was impossible to watch anything outside home. Tried and tested so many times. Whenever I find something new that I can't wait to watch, I never go past 1 episode on the bus, in the office, or wherever else I was. Then I was reminded why I hadn't do that for a long time. I always wonder how other people do it. I really only could do variety shows like Runningman on the go. Even so, I haven't watched Runningman for probably 2 years before I start catching up again since Apr this year.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the pandemic have allowed me more time at home, and caught up with a few recent (mostly) dramas. Also, succumbed to online subscriptions because after all, I only have the choice of watching shows online, and I was tempted by colleagues on recent shows. I finally started in May and I really just jumped into watching them. 

Surprisingly, I've finished watching a few, on and off a few after some breaks in between.

1. Hospital Playlist
The show I immediately jumped into. It was really nice, heartwarming and funny most of the time. Love the chemistry between the actors and how the show was presented. I was rather crazy over the show I would say. So much so, I really finished it within like 2 weeks, while also working and caught up to the latest episode before it was first aired. And ended up discussing the show with many people - and had a group chat changed the group name to include the drama. Subsequently, produced a cover video for one the songs in the drama. Yup, that was how crazy we were. I wouldn't mind watching the show again, and of course, waiting for the next season to come out. I just love all the cast and their stories so much! 

2. Prison Playbook

Following the above, colleague also suggested I watch this one as they were under the same production team. Indeed, I love the show. Of course, I also finished it quite fast, by binge watching at night only. Love the humour and the same actor from Hospital Playlist - Jung Kyung-ho. He has this comical element in him in both shows that makes him so adorable. My fav actor in both shows. 

3. Sweet Munchies

Watched this because of actor Jung Il-woo, took serious notice of him only in Cinderella and the Four Knights (which was probably the last korean drama I blogged about, that was in 2017, and back then I watched because of Lee Jungshin). It turned out to be rather funny, thought provoking and educational. Ok, not exactly but it was still nice. He became a gay chef on a TV programme because he was desperate for money, and wanted to quit after the pilot episode but things got bigger it became a regular. Things became more complicated as he developed feelings for the female lead and the second male lead developed feelings for him. It was so obvious he does but I think as a straight guy, he just didn't notice it, until he expressed his affection for him. Throughout the show my OS was really: 'it is so obvious', he's really not hiding it real well. Then again, no one else in the show noticed as well. Fine.

4. The King

Of course, because of Lee Minho, my number 1. But, there was no strong desire to continue although he is really handsome in the show. I think it's because of the storyline, not exactly captivating. The only captivating element is Lee Minho himself. Most of the reviews were negative on the show as a whole, and also on his acting. To me, I don't really care. I'm just biased towards him. But true to discussion with colleague, they always portray him as 高富帅 (which are all true), and that's why it loses the xfactor sometimes because that's all he is. Nothing changed and hence people don't buy it. 

5. Was It Love (ongoing)

I watched it because of Song Jihyo. Slightly surprised by the story and her character, but she really has the charm. Contrary to popular believes, I really like the male lead - Son Ho-jun, even though he is the shortest amongst the 4 main male characters. But I really like his role, and how he did it. A little childish, but still cares and goes all out. (I realised this is what I like in guys, in all the shows I watched). And I don't think he is less handsome than the others. (I'm saying this because I saw some comments while searching on the drama info). He was also compared to the other 3 in the drama - that he is the shortest and the least handsome. True for the first but not true to the second. The worse suspend in the show is I can't wait to find out who is the father of Song Jihyo's daughter. The drama hasn't ended yet so I couldn't find any answer. We will soon find out! 6 episodes in 3 days. I slowed down a little since the final episode will be next week.

6. Backstreet Rookie 

Of course, I wanted to watch this because of Ji Chang-wook. However, it is only aired on TV, and did I already mentioned about watching the TV at home? So I saw 2 episodes on one of those days I was on leave and the TV was free in the day, and that was it. I haven't catch up with the rest after that. I will!

7. Running Man

Not drama but I finally decided to start watching runningman again. 10years into their making and honestly, even though the format now is totally different from what they started out with, the show is still funny! I guess it's not just song but also the singer(s). I really have to applaud most of them, even the youngest(s) in the group are 34yo this year. It is amazing how they could still do this, esp. when the oldest is like 54yo? And so, I have successfully caught up with the latest episode this year, and going back to what I missed out from last year backwards.

Other than all these, the only other drama I binge watched was 我们与恶的距离, because of 贾静雯 and 曾沛慈. But I was totally surprised by the entire work. Evoked so much emotions with reality of life, emotions overtaking rational thoughts, mental illness, work ethics (media mainly, a little of law) and how the netizens and general views on social problems actually enlarge them more than what they should be. That was really one show the emotions took over me so much that I had to pause the show several times to calm myself down and catch my breathe from all the crying before continuing. And yet, I just couldn't stop watching it. Every character was so well-crafted I can't even decide who was better. There were only 10 episode, but I cried so badly for most of the episodes, late into the night and had swollen eyes the next day.

Where will I go from here, I have no idea. Sometimes the fire or desire to watch dramas just rise and die suddenly I don't know when will it happen again. Meanwhile, I'm somehow hoping this peaceful period continue to last a little longer. It will be good while it lasted (only because I still have a job). 

For the rest, I hope it will be over soon. 

Beijing 2008

Been in a Olympics mood lately... cos practically i'm home most of the mornings and afternoons... since the channels are free... why not just watch? haha..

But mostly watching Gymnastic... Men team finals, women team finals, men individual all-rounder finals... but missed women individual all-rounder finals today... but now it's showing on Chn U... so i'm watching it.. just that it's near to the end already... Expected Nastia LIUKIN from USA to win the medal... she's been performing very well in the team competition... Anyway other than that... she's pretty too. haha! Anyway 1st runner up Shawn JOHNSON from USA was good too... but anyway she's still young so way to go ya!

If only they compete ytd instead of today.... Men competition is so... scary. They are like performing very well at the team finals... but dunno why quite a no. of the competitors had very bad performance at the individual and they like fell off the apparatus during the competition. In the gold medal position was Yang Wei from China. He's good but i think he's not really good in all the apparatus... Or at least... high bars isn't his forte... He just went up... do a few ok-only stunts... swing and turn a few rounds and finished off... But the rest of the apparatus he was really good.. eg. the double rings. i think he looked damn cool when he's up there... And becos high bars was his last item... he was already a few points ahead of the others.. he just need to pass it safely in order to get the gold.. safely = not falling from the bars and perform at least the basic stunts they had to fulfil.

In Silver medal position was UCHIMURA Kohei from Japan. He's even cooler cos he fell from pommel horse not once but TWICE. and still can get 2nd. But his team mate wasn't so lucky... Tomita Hiroyuki fell from Rings and fell out of the medals... a pity thou cos he performed quite well in others.

Yang Wei's team mate Chen Yibing wasn't that lucky too... He finished the competition LAST! dotx. To think that i was thinking quite highly of him.. but can't blame him lah... he fell off from pommel horse which was his first apparatus... and i think thereafter all his apparatus were quite badly done except for rings.. which was his forte. I think he fell at parallel bars also which was the main reason to his injury... Cos after that he fell from high horizontal bar again and in the end didn't finish his last item which was floor. Sian-ed.. hopefully he will do well in the individual apparatus competition.

Then today i watched something SO boring!!! i.e. Lin Dan from China vs Chen Jin from China in the semi-finals for Badminton Men's singles. Wah liao.. what is there to see when they are representing the same country... Results so predicted... obviously the deemed better one had to win what... Lin Dan is supposed to be World Rank No.1 lor! So the match was plain boring cos they looked like they were practising with each other for their next match. lol. So in the end Lin Dan beat Chen Jin flat after winning 2 sets straight. They must be thinking to themselves something like 'just get it over and be done with, it a no-point match'. Lol. and I bet it was the same for Women's doubles semi-finals cos it was also China vs China. But becos of that.. Finals will be more exciting at least. Haha! Looking forward to the Men's singles final. To see Lin Dan playing against Lee Chong Wei (world rank no.2) from malaysia again. And i seriously hope that Lin Dan is able to show his power and live up to his name of being world no.1. (the last time i watch them compete during my china trip, lin lost totally and how shameful for a first in the world)

Watching repeat of Badminton Women's doubles final now... it's China vs Korea... The other Chinese team already won the Japanese team and held a bronze medal... Ok.. actually China got the gold medal already lah.. quite expected too.. i think i seem them played against each other also.

Ok... after so much on other countries... let's encourage Team Singapore!! :))) The table tennis team had been doing quite well... And truly speaking i wasn't having high hopes on Li Jiawei for Women's singles cos she always very unstable at competitions... And this is not the first time she leads in the first 2 or 3 sets and after that lost eventually. Dunno why leh... maybe her stamina not as good.. But all the best for Mixed doubles! But the other player for Women's singles didn't let the countrymen down ya... And yeah!! We are getting a medal! Finally the little red dot is making into the great nations. I'm proud of Singapore! :))) Thou the Chinese team is really like how to defeat.. but well... we'll nv know... If we clinche the Gold, it will be a further glory for the team! If not, Silver itself is enough to show the world what Singapore is capable of! Yeah.

Can somebody tell me why is it that I will feel very touched when i see the victory ceremony? And it applies to Whatever sports it is! I know it's ridiculous... and i just feel VERY happy and TOUCHED for whoever from whichever country winning the medal.. I'd probably cry when i see Team Singapore standing on the podium. lol!

Ok lah.. shall stop here.. for the moment... when there's other exciting stuff.. i'll be back. hee.

Transformation to a 宅女..

I think i've made myself a 宅女 now... (is there such a phrase? usually ppl only use on guys. i.e. 宅男) Lol. And that's the reason why i haven't been updating.

The only day i was really out in the sun to have some fun was last tues... i.e. my class outing to sentosa. And it wasn't a really sunny day and other than playing captain's ball for a while.. i didn't do much also. Just walked ard and take pictures of my classmates in action.. and played some card game. Chilled at Cafe del Mar till 9+ be4 making our way home... It was a great day i would say.

The rest of the days... other than going to sy, lunch out on some days and the trip to the travel agency on sat... i spend the rest of the time at home. either watching tv or watching shows online!! Omg. can't believe i'm living this kind of life. Thou i quite enjoyed such life. But it's rather nua lor. Plus this will result in no income for spending the coming months! how can! =x

However.. i think the 'couch potato' personality will continue for another week or so? Hmm.. that is bad. haha!!! =P Inverted commas cos i didn't really lay on a couch... Haha!!! And sometimes i sit in front of the com. I think i need to exercise soon. But these few days are hot like mad. how to go out?

So... Just finished watching 恶作剧2吻 online... Been watching on a weekly basis for the first few epis... but stopped cos of the assignments and projects.. So chionged a few epis in a day right after exams. Damn shuang. Hmm... dun really like the ending.. haha! Cos i hope the show will still continue. 20 episodes is definitely too little!!! Thou i really didn't like Ariel Lin... she made the show more interesting in a way. And I like 郑元畅! He is handsome and charming! haha! So the show is just too nice to be missed. Partly cos I wished that i can have someone like 直树 ba... The way he express is love is just so.. romantic. Although it's only in this series that he showed his love for her. not so much in the first series yea... Still. My fav show. :))) Dun mind watching it again and again. Or at least can watch a few more times. Since i already watched the first series thrice le. haha!!! =x

Then watching the last few episodes of 原来我不帅 online... How can i miss the drama with my JJ being the lead actor right!!! Haha. It might be a very crappy story.. with many incredible things happening.. But some of the stuff are realistic and as happened in our surroundings. The author likes to include interesting current affairs into the story. It's a rather funny show. 李玖哲 is damn funny in the show lah... Then again... there's only 13 episodes to it.. Maybe it's enough already. But 不知不觉 already watched till epi 11. so ending soon.

Next will be 斗牛，要不要... this one can wait a bit cos it's showing on tv now.... so if i din catch that epi on tv... then dl and watch. But the lengths quite different... so a bit ma fan. Anyway... partly also cos the show dl one got no sound. sians. and slightly longer than the JJ show. Well. obviously i'm more interested in the previous show lah. haha. But i want to watch this cos 贺军翔 is very shuai! Siyih will be very happy to see me saying this. :))) It's really a show or a stubborn girl meeting a stubborn guy. They produced quite a bit of fireworks. Woohoo! So watch!!! :)

Ok.. that's online. BUT how can i forget my tv!! Bosco Wong 黄宗泽 and Kevin Cheng 郑嘉颖 are on 8pm show 强剑... Bosco a bit naive... but very courageous and helpful. Kevin a bit cool... but is always calm and steady. Dunno who will bosco end up with. hmm... Continue to watch lor... Last 2 weeks didn't manage to watch during the weekday... have to wake up earlier on weekends to catch 5 epis tgt. haha!

Then 9pm show... this week last 5 epis already. Very nice show too... 突围行动... A whole show of schemes and whatever-not. I think the most real or scheme-less roles are Xiang Qing and RiLang. And maybe RiJin.. And the most foxie person... is really the damn father. tsk tsk tsk. But.. all these made the show worth watching... and keeps making ppl guess what will happen next and very eager to know what's the ending like. Same to me! hahaha.

If u think that's all i watch. you might be wrong. These are just the more core shows and routine ones. others include 康熙来了，麻辣天后宫，星光大道，快乐星期天... blah blah blah... I'm officially a tv addict during my holidays. Becos this is like the exact situation the last long long break last year. lol!

CO and 幸福言

Today (sat) was quite fun... went back to nyco again! :)))

Casper called me in the morning while i was on the bus and ask me if i'm awake already. DOTX. scolded him. haha. reached ny abt 11am. hee. originally i said i wanted to reach at 10.. but apparently i left my house at erm.. 10.15? =P At least i nv put aeroplane today ok. :) Played tian shan with them again.... trying to prac for my nusco prac after that lah. haha. didn't manage to hear them play the new song... perhaps next time lah. hee. Had lunch with casper and zhiwen be4 going to nus.

Reached nus quite early too.. be4 3pm at least. haha! And i went in be4 they started their practice! Err.. first time in the last few weeks. =x Anyway... i realised i have to prac more. haha! And i realised... actually they do not really need me there anyway... cos guest players are supposed to be very zai.... very this one here is quite lousy.. haix. so ya... i should prove my worth there... yeah.

Had dinner with a very small grp of ppl... had some laughter and weird discussions... somehow i just feel that there's nothing they can't share btwn the grp. and it was fun in a way... and that is what i enjoy being with the nusco ppl. :)


很多人说："幸福要自己争取"。问题是当我还没有得到幸福的时候，我怎么知道那就是我的幸福？如果我知道纠缠是没有结果的，请问我还要自己争取吗? 如果争取到了才知道那不是幸福，请问争取的过程中所付出的是值得的吗？

《恶作剧之吻》是我一直爱看的偶像剧。我真的很钦佩湘琴的毅力。他为了自己心爱的人可以付出那么多，那么多。虽然她很笨，但这种精神却让人感动! 我自问是没有她这么有恒心。她竟然能暗恋 （或者说是明恋) 一个人那么多年 （7年），而且是在对方又对她很冷淡的情况下还是那么坚持，真的很不容易。although i'm not as brave as her... i've tried very hard for my last crush for a rather long time too... afterall it didn't work out.. and maybe it's better becos i dunno if that is my 幸福。but no doubt i've stopped the 自己争取 spirit in me... not willing to find myself dropping into a 深渊again.

记得在《第8号当铺》里，当铺老板韩诺用他一生的爱情转换成妻子一生的幸福，以为他离开以后妻子仍然可以找到幸福。结果妻子至死也没有再接受任何人。 他不明白，于是在妻子临终前问了她为什么要拒绝那些追她的人，为什么不接受幸福? 妻子说道："因为你就是我的幸福，等你一生就是我最大的幸福"。what an irony right...

To speak the truth... 就算我现在有喜欢的人，我是不会向他示好的。就算我需要一个人在身边，我也不会说的。因为我怕失去。

StarSearch 2007 Finals

In class now... pretty boring cos i've got nothing to show my lecturer.. which was real bad cos my last draft was totally out of point and he was expecting something from me this week. =x but i promised that i will hand in tmr... haix!

But the weekend was pretty well-spent... but i think i deserve the cost of seeing the doctor... cos i was out of my house for the whole sat... like woodlands in the morning and nus in the afternoon... which was in the end quite enjoyable... thou not many went out for dinner that night.. cos most of them are in the concert com.. dotx! So only left eric, huiyan, zhenqiang, sunjing and me. but we still had a good time laughing... well... at least i think so... haha..

But sunday was bad... i woke up still feeling sick... so went to see the doc. and it cos me a huge sum of $45!! So ex lah... haix... and i slept thru the afternoon after the medicine... until dinner time.. haha!

Then time to watch StarSearch 2007 Finals.... Sat thru the whole show... wah... i think they quite creative this year... so put it in an award ceremony situation... but i think the Japanese Fireman thing round is really like crap lah.... i told my sis that it's like they are training them for charity shows lor... and the host thought so too.. lol.

And good thing Chen Bang Jun emerged as champion!! thou he didn't get the most popular award.. haha... actually i've seen a lot of negative comments abt him but i'm still standing firm on my ground... hope he will do well in the circle. However, it was quite a pity that yah hwee didn't get into top 3... i think the last round she didn't do well... and for the runner ups.. they really catch up with the last round. and thus the results. cos after all, yang wei lie wasn't top 3 for most of the first 3 rounds. OK. doesn't matter. CBJ is the champion! :) [And khai told me that cbj is his friend! argh! *jealous]

Ok lah... i'm not that real sort of going crazy over these people... usually i just admire them lah.. =P and will be thinking how nice if i can really know them. and be proud that i know them. hahaha! =x Anyhow thinking only lah! now.. LESSONS! and ASSIGNMENTS!

I wonder how am i going to finish all the assignments.. wish myself good luck.. lol!!!

校园歌喉战 - 艾钧伟

Hello hello... dunno if anyone has seen this before... but pls look at these 2 videos.. the guy is damn shuai lah.. haha!!





He is cool right? and super funny also... as in his reaction all that.. and esp. the part where he was going to say he's sick. there's a whole lot more of his videos on youtube as to the same variety show.. :))) Just search for 艾鈞偉 in youtube and tada a list comes out. but all in traditional chinese lah. heex. Hope u all like him like how i like him. haha!! Hopefully will get to see all those episodes on tv soon. haha!!

松柏: my new/old idol?

Now using sis' laptop to blog lor.. Cos i think the monitor really cannot make it liao... ytd still can watch a few xiao song （小松） and xiao bo's （小柏）video on youtube.. but today really quite jialat liao..

Anyway... as mentioned... nowadays i'm really amazed by these 2 guys... and i must say that they are really a pair of very cool twins... they just have the charisma to be on the stage... and i'm super impressed with the skills they possess and how they actually achieve what they are now... i've watched most of the talk shows they attended in taiwan... including 康熙来了which has 2 diff epi... and the 2nd one got part 1&2 somemore... then still got 国光帮帮忙, 封面人物 and 桃色蛋白质 and of cos... the 快乐星期天。艺能歌喉战 where they were the judges... and there really many interesting stuff that happens... 我是打从心里佩服他们的!! And could see that they become more and more handsome thru the years... with more 魅力 too... Just too cool to resist. haha! and and and... must really see them dance.. omg... very 厉害!! Haha. I just selling them like that lor.. lol.. see for urself lah..

So.. i spent most of my nights watching youtube that even my sis finds it amazing that i can watch like everyday! haha! But actually i got do other things also lor.. like practise gaohu.. and and.. watch tv... heex!

Ok lah.. another day then blog again. tired liao.. Nitex..

One Wisdom tooth gone.. Publicise for concert!

Been home for 2 days since the dental appointment ytd... now my right cheek is like swollen and i can't open my mouth too big.. dotx... i dunno why the dentist didn't take out the top tooth too.. but since i already can't open my mouth when he finished... i can't ask too.. haha. So it wasn't really very very pain since i only took out one from the bottom.. still need to go back next week to take out the stitching thou...

So the day was spent watching tv... sleeping and what else? hmm.. practically nothing else.. Haha. And i was watching these 2 shows... 青春的节奏 and 我的第一次. The first one is obviously about youth day... reminds me of the sec sch days when i saw co.. syf.. and syf opening. the flashcard display we did back in sec 1... the 2 syfs we went for... it reminds me even more when i rmb what i chatted with yulong on sunday.. and with yoongking and wilson the previous sundays... the images are so fresh in my mind... i have really gone thru a lot of things during those days... happiness, sadness, anger.. everything! And co.. really made me grow a lot... maybe that's when i learnt to see ppl properly..

Then the 2nd show.. it's damn cute lah... this episode actually featured 3 children's first day of sch... 2 were p1 and the other going to dou dou class.. of cos i'm going to say that it let me think of my first day of sch too! Haha... can't rmb what is it like in kinderland... but in RSS.. i rmb nobody accompanied me to sch on first day... i just took the sch bus... and of cos i didn't cry... and i swear i was the one who enjoyed school very much..~ and i bet i was the one who laughed at zhangyan who cried on his first day in sch (which is already the 3rd day of sch) but later made friends with him... and later on became his mei... it was really the good old days.. who rmbs all the results and lessons?? rmb the friends and fun!! haha.. and of cos.. speak about the co back then... it was nothing good really... no quantity.. no quality.. no good instruments... it's just like playing playing lor.. but of cos thanks for building up my passion for co.. so how can kids not like schooling?? it's the best kind of life... long hours?! wait till they work... haha.

Ok... i'm going to continue to rot at home... perhaps till fri... oh.. it means 3 days at home! Haha. but it's warm and humid... a bit sian thou... not much of tv prog in the aftn... and i just had to prac erhu... which i'm supposed to.. =x Ok... shall not say so much.. ERm... once again!!! Had to publicise the Changkat CC concert... 8 July 2006 (this sun).. 7pm @ SCH.. Pls... try to support... thou it might not be the best or even a good show.. but it's still the works of the hardworking students... Esp. Jonathan... And i'm doing this for him lah... the poor boy can't even concentrate on his school work.. So why not make this concert a success by bringing more ppl to watch?? Pls pretty?? Contact me soon!
