It's been long since i talked abt the movies, concerts, plays, musicals, whatever events i attended. (been long since i last blogged anyway) =x And the albums i bought.. too many to update. I have at least 10 things on my list not updated. haha! But the thing is i've been to quite a few and also bought quite a no. of albums. ah... money sucking businesses.. but i dun care!
1. Charlie St. Cloud
Watched the movie with my da-jie @Iluma. Zac Efron is so good looking pls. HAHA! Anyway it's really a heartwarming piece of work. And I really do like Efron even more after the show. He has really beautiful eyes. I think i already said that when i saw him in Hairspray. hahaha! Yup, definitely the type of movie i like. Heh.
2. Sun Huang's Recital
Went to watch the recital with a few others @ Esplanade Recital Studio. She's really good with her techniques. Played with a lot of emotions and expressed to the fullest. However, we all agreed that that are some songs which are so not for her style. And, encore piece was Flight of the Bumble Bee, done in less than a minute! Like crazy omg.
3. Buffet @ Melt the World Cafe (Mandarin Oriental)
Went to their buffet dinner with my royals. Many exciting stuff! But overall was all right, catch up a lot with them. Plus, it's the first time i saw von chia ever since she came back from sydney! haha! It's been a really long time. I really miss the times we used to study (play most of the time) tgt. Anyhows, had a good time gossiping abt everything (outside and within us). Nv a grp of friends of mine have this kind of talking power. seriously, sometimes it's just embarrassing with them. But well, we are in our own world. LOL. Joke: We will eat at all the places until all of them ban us from going cos we are too noisy. =x
4. Nike Human Race
The race came right on the next day after the buffet. HAHA! Thing is i didn't really train much. and so stamina was like. hais. And it was sunny that day. And what was disappointing was the finisher gift. damn sian.
In the end we went for Mac breaky after the run and some of us 'dispose' the useless nike figurine there.
Then the rest of the afternoon was spent in bed and the toilet. Something went wrong somehow, i just kept on going to the toilet. sian ttm.
5. Singapore Hits Award
First time attending the event. Sad to say, the ticket sales wasn't really good, probably due to the lack of idols coming. Anyhows, somehow an advantage to us cos we moved to the centre block of seats. Clearer view and everything! Not a very very high event, but heard the good singers sang live, like Jeff Chang, SodaGreen, Huang Xiaohu, Hebe are the few i like!! :D And too bad JJ nv go also... :( But he's coming back for tour concert next year! I'm super looking forward to it! :D
6.JB with Beloveds
Not all went of cos.. Via, sushi, ling, Jan, dj, yingning and I. Cos it was a public hol, every where was filled with ppl! like seriously a lot of ppl! And so to beat the crowd, we have to take alternate buses, and walk across the straits. wow. my first time doing that. And we are actually getting there faster than waiting for buses to cross the bridge cos after all the walking, we didn't even see a single bus in sight. and even better, we are like the same speed as cars. haha!
So first thing went for lunch cos by the time we crossed msia custom it was quite late alrdy. Decided to eat Nando's cos Kenny Rogers was full house. But Waited soooo long for lunch to be served lah. Even though Nando's is as good as empty. Dots max. But not bad? haha. next time got to try sg's Nando's, now that there are more branches ard.
Then walk walk, shop shop, and blah blah blah... 6+ we went off for dinner liao! hahaha. Seafood dinner! :D Not as nice as the last time but i guess we are all satisfied. I'm not a fussy eater anyhows. hahaha!
7. Megamind
It was quite a last min decision i think. or maybe just 1 day before that we decided to catch the movie. Well, i initiated it cos i want to watch movie lor. And surprisingly 5 of us went to the movie! which is already half of the grp leh. :D
Well, the movie is funnay.. The way megamind speak is really funny. 'elo?' Haha! And the twist was quite unexpected. Although it was quite incredible how can the hero die so fast. seriously. overall it was good.
8. 長虹 Concert
I'm not sure how many knew, but my parents are actively involved in the choir and it's their 10th anni concert i think. I can't rmb how many years was it alrdy. Actively involved means that they are the pioneer batch of members, the executive comm, concert comm and everything big and small. So 3 of us (my sisters and i) have been faithfully helping out for every single concert they had, though not many.
They start to get anxious of lack of practices 2months before the concert, that the members are not coming blah blah blah. The thing is, when i was there for their rehearsal, i can feel, the anxiety of the uncles and aunties to get their concert going on right, and i was really inspired by their good spirit! Something that CO has to learn! We only panic when the concert is 2weeks away. diaos.
It makes me wanna pursue my interest even till my old age. So i hope CO will nv die sia. Oh, if not i can go join a choir too. lol!
9. SCO - Butterfly Lover concert
Actually i'm quite amazed by the concert. Generally all the songs are nice! The soloists are good! For violin, even though there are a few parts she played wrong notes and is detached from the orchestra, her skills are good! The tone of her playing is really good! solid but have the gentleness of a lady. HAHA. my vocab is limited ah paiseh.
Anyhows, the concert highlight is really the birthday celebration for guest conductor of the concert - Cao Peng. He's like 90 and is still conducting! omg see him like that will feel a bit heart pain sia.
It was a great gift, a great relaxation after the first week of madness at work. Haha. although it was quite a rush but i made it anyhows. :D
10. Standard Chartered Marathon
After the exams came stand chart run. Actually the whole time i was contemplating if i should skip it since i didn't train, it was raining the whole week, and somehow i pulled my veins again. However, miracles always happen and i manage to recover by that time and the weather was really fine. So the only factor is whether i want to run or not. In the end, i went lah. and instead of raining, the sun was shining SO brightly that i got sunburnt, or rather, tanned. from head to toe, whichever area which is not covered.
Nv train hor.. cannot expect too much lah huh. hahaha! =x
11. Cinderel-LAH!
One of the best times i had this year. Truly entertaining show. From the starting till end, not a long moment will be free and got nothing to do. most of the time there's like action to rmb and do, things to shout out, magic words to rmb. blah blah blah. And some parts are really quite spontaneous.
But actually the really funny ppl are the 2 sisters. like omg! All the cross-dressing and changing of voices. It is very interactive so i guess it leaves a lot of impression for the audiences. either good or bad. haha! Good for me i think. I rmb right after the interval, gurmit singh appeared right in front of us (we were seated at circle1 at level1) in Jeya's appearance. It's really a shock to start with. Lol! And we were all given a 'magic wand' to be used in several parts of the show. Quite cool. Love it ttm. However, i think Fried Rice Paradise songs nicer. haha!
12. Mum's Bday
As usual, our eat-out session. And we are back to our all-time fav dim sum place - East Ocean Teochew Restaurant. Situated at Shaw Centre. I think a lot of ppl doesn't know, however, whenever we go, it's full house. How ironic. haha!
Ok so we went there cos apparently my sister won a $100 voucher from their mid-autumn festival lucky draw when we bought mooncakes from them. And then, of cos the amount is like not enough for a meal lah. We really eat until full sia. And everything is nice!!! Haha. The manager even joked with us, i mean after all we have really been patronizing them all our lives. hahaha! Really had a great meal. Still the fav dim sum place. :D
13. NAC Prize winners' concert
It was after the meal i went to shop and then down to SCH to look for the rest. anyways. the whole thing was really epic ttm! First we got the bouquets (ok some are just stalks) took damn long sia. So some went back to SCH to do the banner first. It was really damn funny. They took zhiwen's mother's shaw to be the cloth! like wth when i saw it. somemore they said they sew it and in the end the thread is coming out from everywhere. lol! But anyhows we just wrote some words cos it's damn difficult. haha
Concert was even more epic!!! omg. Like after jojo finish his performance. it was really chaos sia. LOL! Super duper funny.
14. Crazy Christmas
The first event we had after horng came back. Hmm the meet up was more exciting than the show itself. the show was so-so, not as good as it was 2 years ago. most parts they didn't really share any interesting stuff. Well, i'll reconsider properly if they were to stage it again during the following christmases. Haha
Following that was a series of shopping for christmas pressies and KOI. lol!
Yup. I shall end this post here cos that's all i have on my list at that point of time when i started typing the post. lol! The rest of dec are even more exciting! I think i need more time. LOL =X And mostly above are actually arts events/concerts! Next time i'll talk more abt music. :D
