Shall talk abt the night at Esplanade on thurs! It's almost exciting if not for the fact that i'll be there again on this sat..~! Nonetheless... i do enjoy it with just the few 200 of us in the whole big theatre.. enjoying the whole show to ourselves even before the show opens on fri 23march.. YES! It's The Phantom Of Opera lah...
My classmates and i gathered at Esplanade at/be4 7.20pm (the planned time) on 22 March... after a long waiting time... we were finally let in to Circle 1... and i got a seat at BB 22 (what coincidence with my fav no.) haha!
I think it's going to be the thing that ppl will be talking abt now and then from today... lol.. Anyway... The show is well... fantastic if the chandelia could drop at a faster speed... And now that i've watched it once LIVE!... i would prepare myself for an even more enjoyable 2nd time... Cos ultimately there's too many details for the audience to follow.. and sometimes i lost my focus... perhaps to something of less importance.. But what i like most abt the whole musical is the sound effects that cleverly used all possible speakers in the theatre... it felt like the musical is happening all ard in the theatre instead of just the stage... and this includes the orchestra pit...
The only thing abt the whole musical is... there isn't any subtitle shown... since my command of english is already not very good... and the actors do speak in their very own accent which is sometimes not very interpretable for me... some of the times i do not exactly catch what their dialogue was... =P Thus, i think a 2nd time helps... Heex.
Err.... Anyway.. if u have a faint heart... you might want to consider withdrawing from watching the musical... there are scenes and happenings that are surprising and shocking! Not referring to the chandelia drop... haha.
AND... i truely truely admire ALL the actors... they are truely all-rounded... Sing, Act and Dance... All of them! :)
Well well.. we'll see after tmr's show if my feelings change... cos it's only true that every experience is very based on the actual thing that you attended.. and it varies cos it's a LIVE! performance... so it's only nature... even if the actors sing and act everyday...!
